  64. Rig-EQF Version 2 is a powerful, full-featured, and easy to use
  65. Kenwood radio control program for Amateur Radio operators and Short Wave
  66. Listeners.

  68. DESCRIPTION:  Rig-EQF features a menu-driven system, complete with
  69. mouse control.  Rig-EQF provides comprehensive computer control of your
  70. Kenwood rig, utilizing the COM port interface.  Various radio parameters
  71. can be controlled and monitored via the computer, increasing the power
  72. and flexibility of your station.

  74. Rig-EQF provides a large digital display of current VFO frequency,
  75. S-meter and Power Output meter displays for rigs with this capability,
  76. sophisticated programmable scanning, rig memory disk storage, local
  77. memories, and much more.

  79. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:  Rig-EQF can be run on any 100% IBM-
  80. compatible computer with at least 256K memory and DOS 3.3 or
  81. higher.  The program works with all video adapters, monochrome or
  82. color.  A mouse is supported but not required.

  84. REGISTRATION:  The user registration fee for Rig-EQF is $20 (U.S.
  85. funds).  Registered users receive the latest version of Rig-EQF.

  117. ===== Installation =====================================

  119. The installation procedure for Rig-EQF is quite simple.  The
  120. package includes a program, "INSTALL", which automates the
  121. entire process.  You will need about 360K of available disk space
  122. on the disk drive on which you plan to install Rig-EQF.
  123.  
  124. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  125. Rig-EQF.
  126.

  128. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  129.  
  130. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  131.  
  132.    o  Place Rig-EQF distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  133.       appropriate diskette drive.
  134.  
  135.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.BAT" program on the distribution diskette.
  136.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  137.       the MS-DOS command, "a:", and then type "INSTALL"
  138.  
  139.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  140.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  141.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  142.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  143.       the Rig-EQF files to that directory.  If you received Rig-EQF
  144.       on two diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette
  145.       drive when asked to do so.  If you so direct it, the installation
  146.       program will install executable programs and documentation in
  147.       other directories of your choice.  It will make no other changes;
  148.       specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys
  149.       files.

  152. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  153.  
  154. If you downloaded Rig-EQF from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  155. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  156. following steps.
  157.  
  158.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  159.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  160.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  161.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  162.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  163.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  164.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  165.       the package.
  166.  
  167.    o  Execute the "INSTALL" program which you have extracted.  For
  168.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  169.       the Rig-EQF package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS
